Celebrating 175 years
Constituted June 5, 1850
The lodge meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.

At North Star Lodge No. 241, our mission is to foster brotherhood, community spirit, and friendship among our members. We believe in supporting one another and promoting positive values that enrich our lives and those around us.
Making good men better.
Through Freemasonry, men from all different backgrounds and walks of life come together as equals and call each other “Brother.” What unifies Masons is not where we come from or what we do for a living, but rather what we aspire to be.
Every Mason takes an obligation to strengthen his character by applying our timeless virtues of brotherly love, charity and truth to his everyday life.
Do I Qualify?

* Good moral character

Educational Opportunities
Supportive Services for Pennsylvania Masons and their Families:
1. Is Freemasonry a Secret Society?
Freemasonry is not a secret society. Our members do not hide their affiliations. Our buildings are well-marked and often available for community use. While there are a few confidential handgrips and passwords used to confirm membership, we have no secrets concerning our purpose and programs. Many of our activities are open to family and friends.
2. Is Freemasonry a Religion?
No. All who join Freemasonry must declare their belief in the existence of a Supreme Being and practice their own personal faith, but the fraternity is neither a religion nor a place to worship. Rather, it is a place where men of all monotheistic creeds can meet and focus on the shared values of peaceful human interaction that are common to all religions.
3. Is there Hazing?
There is absolutely no hazing permitted in the Masonic fraternity.
4. Is Memorization Required?
Like all fraternities, Freemasonry has impressive ritual ceremonies that date back centuries. These are presented from memory by officers who are developing their leadership and public speaking skills. There is no requirement to memorize any ritual, but members may choose to participate if they wish.
5. What Happens After I Submit My Form to Join?
When the apply form is submitted, our team will process a background check. Upon passing the background check, a member will discuss with you the purpose, values and history of the fraternity; the requirements and expectations of a potential member; and the benefits of membership. The member will recommend a local lodge, to which you will submit a petition for membership. Some members will visit your home to meet your family and answer any questions they may have. Lodge members will vote on your petition for membership. After a favorable vote, you will be enrolled in the Masonic Education program and assigned a mentor to prepare you for receiving your three degrees.
